10 ехать
Глагол ехать передается английскими ride и drive. Ехать верхом (на лошади) – to ride a horse и to ride on a horse (в последнем случае имеется в виду, что едущий сам не правит, а сидит за спиной того, кто правит). Ехать на велосипеде, мотоцикле – to ride a bicycle, to ride a motor-cycle (ехать в коляске мотоцикла – to ride in a side-car of a motor-cycle). Ехать в автомобиле, автобусе и т. д. (управляя ими) – to drive a car, to drive a bus, to drive a cab. Ехать в автомобиле, автобусе, поезде и т. д. (в качестве пассажира) – to ride in (on) a car, to ride in (on) a bus, to ride in (on) a train, to ride in a cab. To drive in a car, to drive in a taxi и to drive in a cab (менее употребительные, чем to ride in a car и т. д.) имеют в виду, что едущий не правит сам, но определяет направление движения.Трудности английского языка (лексический справочник).
